Sherry Chan is an award-winning actuary with 20+ years of outstanding leadership in strategic policy, operations, relationship management, and communications, currently serving as Chief Strategy Officer of Atidot, a $20+ million funded insurtech startup that provides state-of-the-art predictive analytics and artificial intelligence to life insurance companies. Ms. Chan is on the Boards of the American Academy of Actuaries, The Ohio State University’s College of Arts & Sciences, and Abacus Actuaries. Ms. Chan established the University’s first actuarial endowment in its 150+ history, the Sherry S. Chan Actuarial Endowment. She is also the original co-founder of Abacus Actuaries, an international non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Asians to achieve success in the actuarial profession.
Anushka Desai, ASA, MAAA

Anushka is an Actuarial Manager at Milliman in Chicago and primarily works in employer and provider consulting. She has been in the industry for five years, and she graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Anushka has been volunteering with NAWA since the summer of 2021 and co-chairs the Mentorship Impact Committee.

Adrienne founded ATHENA in 2020 after a decade of experience consulting large pension and benefit programs across sectors, industries and geographies at two large consulting firms. She is passionate about creating an authentic and inclusive environment for her team to bring their full self to work, each and every day. In addition to her “day job” as CEO and Founder of ATHENA, Adrienne is a frequent Board member and volunteer across the actuarial profession, with a mix of technical roles specializing in the future outlook of U.S. mortality and leadership roles in organizations dedicated to empowering women in the actuarial profession. She is one of the Co-Founders of the Network of Actuarial Women and Allies (NAWA), which brings together her passions and expertise to build programs that attract, develop and aspire women who work as actuaries across insurance and consulting. Outside of starting her own business, Adrienne enjoys hiking, skiing, and kayaking.
